Brasília for the Fulbright Enhancement Seminar

Reunited with the other Fulbrighters in Brazil's capital for our mid-term enhancement seminar, besides getting to know and appreciate each other better we were able to run into Secretary of State, John Kerry, see the futuristic architecture of the city, visit Dilma's house, and visit some of the most beautiful churches.

Dia dos Pais

Although we were both without our fathers on this day, my Brazilian father/roommate decided to celebrate being a father and cook up a big, yummy lunch.

Another Much Needed and Appreciated Care Package

This landed at my doorstep a few weeks ago and needless to say there's only about 1.5 bags of goldfish left. Such salty, cracker-y goodness!

Winter is Coming!

You know winter is here when the cats start cuddling and finding their way under blankets. Indoor heating, how I miss you!!!

Olinda

Only spending a night in Olinda, I wish we would have had much more time because this little historical town was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Recife. Again, lots of good music and food and wonderful people to boot.

Recife

Probably my favorite big city in Brazil--the architecture, music, food, museums, and general vibrancy made these few days in Recife unforgettable. I hope to return one day and definitely recommend to anyone visiting/traveling within Brazil.
